These SCADA systems are used to monitor and control a plant or equipment in industries such as refrigeration, telecommunications, Traffic signals, energy generation and distribution, water management, Oil and Gas Industry metering and control systems, Environmental control systems and Manufacturing.
A SCADA system gathers information, for example, the temperature of a refrigeration unit, where it transfers the information back to a main computer and alerts if the temperature is higher than is neccessary. It carries out necessary analysis and control, such as determining if the temperature rise is critical, and displaying the information in a logical and organized fashion, such as in a tabular/graphical format by plotting previous temperatures in order for comparisons to be made.
SCADA systems can be relatively simple, such as one that monitors refrigerators in a small pub or bar, or incredibly complex, such as a system that monitors all the activity in a nuclear power plant or the activity of an oil refinery.
We can connect directly to your PLC serial or programming port and in many cases this will mean zero downtime. Then we connect the port via a serial server to a network.
